Choosing Your Wedding Destination
December 2nd, 2009 In Family,Some people may envision the perfect wedding on a beach at sunset. Some may think that the perfect wedding location is the church that you and your family have grown up in. Others may dream about jumping out of a plane for their wedding. There is no right or wrong answer; no definitive best place for a wedding. It all depends on you and your soon-to-be spouse. It all depends on your specific wants, likes, tastes, desires, and needs.
When you’re thinking about where to have your wedding, you have to think about a lot of things. For instance… you can’t have your wedding in a small, local church if you have thousands of people who are going to be attending your wedding. If you want to include all your family and friends but they are limited as to where they can go, then you’ll have to consider their capabilities too. Have you and your fiancĂ© thought about whether you want your wedding to be held indoors or outside somewhere? These are all some of the first questions that you need to be answering for yourself.
Talk to family and friends to learn more about their weddings. Where did they get married? What was good about it and what was bad? You may just find the perfect wedding destination is right around the corner or you may find yourself considering some far-off place that you never would have thought of before.
Before you assume you have to travel a long distance to find the perfect wedding destination, be sure to check out all of your options right in your local area. Sometimes there are some great treasures hiding in your own back yard that would be ideal for your special day. It’s more convenient and it’s easy for you to learn about places that are close to you. You can check out tourist centers and talk to wedding planners in your area, as they could likely point you to some great destination ideas. Chances are there’s a beautiful house on the outskirts of town with a large yard and perfect backdrop, or a private lake somewhere nearby. You never know what you could be missing if you jump straight for the common, exotic, overseas wedding destinations.
