Work at Home Ideas For the Stay at Home Mom
May 7th, 2009 In Family,Many mothers are simply too busy to return back to the workforce after having children. Furthermore, most mothers do not want to. Why pay someone to look after your kids and return back to the cubicle when you can make just as much money with part time work at home? With work at home ideas for stay at home moms, you can continue to watch your children grow and spend that precious early learning time with them, but also make some extra grocery/clothes/travel money on the side. With the financial crisis in full swing, a little extra income can go a long way.
1. Making every day Items- one of the best ways to make a few extra bucks while at home is by making crafts, toys, jewelry, etc. for companies. There are hundreds of companies that will pay stay at home mothers to work at home. You will assemble items, craft kits, leather toys, jewelry, nick knacks and anything else. Essentially, you are the modern day Santa’s little helper; however, instead of working in the North Pole, you can work in your own living room. Set up the baby’s play pen in the corner, put on a Winnie the Pooh DVD for the older ones, and get to work. The more assembled items you do, the more you stand to make. However, you can pick and choose the projects and how many hours you want to put in each month.
2. At home call centers- another great option for moms who want to work at home is to set up a call center in the spare office. If you have a spare room with a phone and an internet connection, you have the potential to make money with an at-home call center. Companies are now hiring at-home workers to take telephone calls and help customers in various situations. This could include trouble shooting, sales and marketing, or customer support. If you have good people skills and can establish a time during the day where there are no distractions, then you may be the perfect candidate. Like in many other work-at-home jobs, you can choose the amount of hours you want to work. However, it’s important to remember that with at home call center careers, you need to establish a quiet area away from the sounds of crying babies, barking dogs and loud televisions, to actually help the customers out.
3. Typing and writing- if you are a good typist or a writer, and you have the experience and the education needed, then you can work at home as a copy writer, ghost writer, typist or content writer. More and more companies are turning to the net to hire typists and copy writers to write content for their websites, magazines, and articles. However, keep in mind that it takes dedication, determination and excellent writing skills to pull this off. However, if you worked in something similar to this in the past, including administration, publishing or marketing, why not use your experience and education and work from home?
